I will never forget October 14th, 2016, while returning from a work trip from Cotonou, Benin via Paris to Atlanta, Georgia that I received the most devastating text from his father that our beloved son Michael had unexpectedly transitioned to glory. My son was just 22 years old. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. Michael, losing you created a huge gap in my life and starting this Ministry has allowed me keep your legacy. This ministry has been created to reflect Michael’s spirit ,impact and love to touch the most vulnerable. Michael and I worked closely to serve the less advantaged in communities in especially the poor children and youth around our home in Lilburn Georgia. We often talked about beginning a “prison ministry” but he did not live to see it. I believe that his influence will continue through this ministry as we continue to touch lives in a meaningful and lasting way. In an instant my life forever shattered, and my world changed to a “before” and “after” my son Michael left this world . I have also learned that “Love never dies” . I will forever love you, Michael. I still hear your voice….”mom I am right here with you” and your voice has helped me, an imperfect vessel turn a story of a painful loss into a beacon of hope, giving me “a purpose driven life” and “unspeakable joy” in giving back to the less fortunate among us.
